
The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT exam) is conducted by the Indian Air Force twice a year for recruitment in the Indian Air Force. The purpose of this test is to recruit officers (both men and women) for three branches (and their sub branches) of Air Force namely Flying, Technical and Ground Duty. The AFCAT 1 2017 will be held on Sunday, 26th February, 2017.
Eligibility:
Minimum qualification is Graduation (Minimum 3 or 4 years degree course) with minimum 60% aggregate and having passed 10+2 with Maths and Physics; however, educational and other eligibility criteria differ according to posts.
Age Limit:
Males: 20-26 as of 1st July, 2016 for all branches.
Females: 20-24 as of 1st July, 2016 for Flying Branch; 20-26 as of 1st July, 2016 for Technical and Ground Duty.

Candidates must apply online on the IAF official website.
Exam Structure:
One common written test for all branches of the IAF during 2 hours and comprising of 100 questions based on basic -

♦ Science
♦ Geography
♦ History
♦ Current Affairs
♦ Reasoning
Note: Each question weighs 3 marks. Negative marking of 1 mark applied to every wrong answer.
Candidates applying to the Technical branch must take an additional exam
Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) which would be for 45 minutes, comprising of 50 questions of 1 mark each and conducted immediately after AFCAT.
For Flying Branch:
Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) would be administered to eligible candidates.
