
The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) conduct the most coveted management entrance exam in the country - the Common Admission Test (CAT). This year, the CAT - 2017 will be conducted by IIM - Lucknow in two sessions. This exam will be conducted by IIMs as a pre-requisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs. These institutes will grant admission against 3750 seats, approximately. The examination, which is a gateway to admissions in 20 IIMs and 150 other institutes, is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, November 26th, 2017.
Post Graduate Programmes in Management
Post Graduate Programmes in Management are available in the following IIM’s and as well as other top management institutes - Ahmedabad, Amritsar (NEW), Bangalore, Bodh Gaya, Calcutta, Indore, Jammu, Kashipur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Sambalpur, Shillong, Sirmaur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur, Visakhapatnam.
Fellow Programmes in Management (FPM) [equivalent to Ph.D.]
Available at the following IIM’s - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kashipur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Shillong, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur and EFPM programme of IIM Kashipur and IIM Raipur.
CAT 2017 Eligibility:
♦ Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian university, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
♦ The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
♦ Candidates awaiting final year results can also apply.
Seats Distribution:
The IIMs follow the reservation policy as per the Government of India’s regulation. These institutes will grant admission against 3750 seats, approximately. The reservation structure of seats has been tabled below.

Important! CAT scores are also considered by many non IIM institutes for admission to their courses.
Fee: The fee is Rs.1800 (General and NC-OBC candidates) and Rs.900 (SC/ST/PwD/DA) candidates.
How to Apply: The nation’s biggest MBA admission test begins applications on the 9th August 2017 and is available till 5.00 pm on September 20, 2017. The registration window will remain open for 50 days. Interested and eligible candidates can register for the exam, only in the online mode.
