NEET 2018 is the absolute entrance exam conducted in India for students aspiring to study medicine or various paramedical sciences -
graduate medical course (MBBS), dental courses (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD/MS) in private or government medical colleges in India. Organized by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), NEET-UG has replaced the AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) and all other individual MBBS exams organized by states or colleges themselves.
Key feature of NEET – 2018: As per CBSE, NEET 2018 exam will be held in 8 different languages like Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Assamese and Bengali.
Candidates can apply for NEET (UG), 2018 via “Online” mode only.
Eligibility Criteria:
General Guidelines -
- Candidates must possess valid Aadhar cards.
- Candidates are permitted to attempt the NEET exam only thrice until they meet the age criteria.
- The candidate must have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December 2018 i.e. the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. Course.
- Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology with English with the following minimum percentages: general category - 50%, SC/ST/OBC - 40%, general PH - 45% and SC/ST/OBC handicapped - 40%.
Eligibility for 85% State Quota Seats
All the states participating in the NEET 2018 will fill their 85% seats of MBBS/BDS though state
counselling, while the remaining 15% of the seats will be filled through All India centralized counselling. The eligibility for the 85% quota seats of the states are mentioned below:
- Candidates must have completed/appearing his/her 10th and 12th from the state.
- Candidate must possess a valid domicile of the state.
- Candidate should possess a residency proof of the state.
Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats
- The candidate must be the citizen of India or Overseas citizen.
- Candidates from State of J & K (i) Students from State of J & K are NOT ELIGIBLE for 15% all India quota seats as State of J&K has opted out of All India Scheme since its inception.
- The online Self Declaration of the candidates will be verified at the time of counselling
- Candidates from the State of J & K can appear in NEET (UG) for admission to Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private/Deemed University and Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune subject to the fulfilment of eligibility conditions.

NEET 2018 Syllabus :
NEET would consist of 4 subjects, i.e. Chemistry, Physics, Zoology and Botany from 11th & 12th board (NCERT & CBSE) academic syllabus.
