NEET 2017 is the absolute entrance exam conducted in India for students aspiring to study medicine or various paramedical sciences - graduate medical course (MBBS), dental courses (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD/MS) in private or government medical colleges in India. Organized by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), NEET-UG has replaced the AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) and all other individual MBBS exams organized by states or colleges themselves.
Due to being founded under a separate law, UG (undergraduate) courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of (PG) Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are exempted from the NEET exam.
Key feature of NEET - 2017: As per CBSE, NEET 2017 exam will be held in 8 different languages like Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Assamese and Bengali.
Eligibility Criteria:
General Guidelines -
♦ Candidates must possess valid Aadhar cards.
♦ Candidates are permitted to attempt the NEET exam only thrice until they meet the age criteria.
♦ Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology with English with the following minimum percentages: general category - 50%, SC/ST/OBC - 40%, general PH - 45% and SC/ST/OBC handicapped - 40%.
Eligibility for 85% State Quota Seats -
All the states participating in the NEET 2017 will fill their 85% seats of MBBS/BDS though state counselling, while the remaining 15% of the seats will be filled through All India centralized counselling. The eligibility for the 85% quota seats of the states are mentioned below:
♦ Candidates must have completed/appearing his/her 10th and 12th from the state.
♦ Candidate must possess a valid domicile of the state.
♦ Candidate should possess a residency proof of the state.
Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats -
♦ The candidate must be the citizen of India or Overseas citizen.
♦ The candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as on or before 31st December of the year of Admission.
♦ The upper age limit is 25 years (5 years relaxation for the SC/ST/OBC candidates) as on or before 31st December of the year of Admission.
♦ The candidates belong to J&K, AP and Telangana are eligible to appear the exam only for the admission to the AFMC, Pune on the basis of self-declaration.

NEET 2017 Syllabus:
NEET would consist of 4 subjects, i.e. Chemistry, Physics, Zoology and Botany from 11th & 12th board (NCERT & CBSE) academic syllabus.
