Scholastic Aptitude Test - II:

SAT II- Scholastic Assessment (then Aptitude) Test is a multiple choice test conducted specifically for evaluating the student's understanding of a particular subject being pursued. This is required as an undergraduate admission pre-requisite by some universities in the United States of America. It is usually taken with the SAT I which is general I nature, this works as additional credential for the student. The test is conducted by a NGO, the College Board, understand what the student has learnt in high school and convey the same to the Educational Testing Services which is the established body for verifying the quality of students chosen for the programs.

Eligibility:


Students are required to have a valid documented proof of their identity such as a Passport book. If the student is traveling to another country to give the examination, he is expected to carry the Passport book

Fee for the Examination:


The fee is tentatively at Rs 3,040/- The fee will vary as per the Rupee-Dollar rates. There is another total fee of Rs 3,850/- in case the individual has opted for the essay which some colleges demand.

Duration:


The SAT test lasts 1 hour. From this 40 minutes attributed for the writing task and 20 minutes for the listening for the language specialized tests specifically designed to incorporate the listening tasks.

Validity:


This test is valid for five years unless there has been a change in the criteria norms. They can be archived indefinitely after the period, but they may not be valid.

Test specifications:


The SAT II test is a multi-choice test which analyses the subject strength of the individual. The subjects this test analyzes are:
Student Aptitude Test for Foreign Study SAT Test in Literature - Approximately 60 questions are allotted
Study Abroad Programs SAT Test in United States History - 90 questions
Education Abroad SAT Test in World History - 95 questions
SAT Part 2 Registration SAT Test in Mathematics (Level 1) - High school level of Geometry and of Algebra are analyzed through approximately 50 questions.
SAT Suite of Assessments SAT Test in Mathematics (Level 2) - High school level of advanced Geometry, Algebra including Pre-calculus and Trigonometry are analyzed though around 50 questions.
Scholastic Aptitude Test SAT Test in Biology (Ecological or Molecular) - 60 minutes is allotted to 80 questions for either of the options under Biology
Scholastic Test Part 2 SAT Test in Chemistry - 60 minutes is allotted to 85 questions of high school level Chemistry.
Scholastic Assessment Test II SAT Test in Physics - 60 minutes is allotted to 75 questions of high school level Chemistry.
SAT II SAT Test in Chinese (with listening) - 85 questions of which 33% is allotted for the listening task of high school level Chinese.

Scholastic Test Part 2 SAT Test in Latin - 70-75 questions of high school level Latin

SAT II SAT Test in Spanish (with listening) - Approximately 85 questions of which 40% is allotted for the listening task of high school level of Spanish

There are maximum possible marks of 800, with the minimum being 200. The scores are released by the organization 3 weeks from the date of giving the exam.
