Scholastic Aptitude Test:

Scholastic Assessment (then Aptitude) Test is a test conducted primarily as a valid platform level competency for the entry into various fields such as finance, literacy, law and educational reforms into the colleges of the United States of America. The test assess a student's readiness for the College and is intended to help the conducting NGO, College Board, understand what the student has learnt in high school and convey the same to the Educational Testing Services.

Eligibility:


Student Aptitude Test for Foreign Study Students are required to have a valid documented proof of their identity such as a Passport book. If the student is traveling to another country to give the examination, he is expected to carry the Passport book.
Study Abroad Programs It would also be handy if the individual manage to be aware of the desired colleges/ schools along with their deadlines.

Fee for the Examination:


The fee is tentatively at Rs 3,040/- The fee will vary as per the Rupee-Dollar rates. There is another total fee of Rs 3,850/- in case the individual has opted for the essay which some colleges demand.

Duration:


The SAT test lasts 3 hours, with an additional 50 minutes for the SAT Essay excluding two optional 8-minute breaks that may be taken between certain sections.

Validity:


This test is valid for five years unless there has been a change in the criteria norms. They can be archived indefinitely after the period, but they may not be valid.

Test specifications:


Education Abroad The SAT test is a multi-choice test which analyses various components of the individuals' skill set.
SAT Registration The English component is a 45 minute long test which measures standard written English and rhetorical skills.
SAT Suite of Assessments The Mathematics component is analysed by 60 questions being answered in a span of 60 minutes. These questions explore mathematical abilities which are typically in accordance with what is taught in high school.
Scholastic Aptitude Test The Reading component analyses the individual's comprehension through 40 questions to be attempted in a span of 35 minutes.
Scholastic Test The Science component is allotted a maximum possible time period of 35 minutes in which 40 questions are expected to be solved. Interpretation, Analysis, Evaluation, Reasoning and Problem Solving skills required for the natural sciences are the key components explored.
SAT 2017 The Writing test (optional) has a maximum possible of 40 minutes, in which a promt is given to evaluate the student's high school level English and composition courses.

There are maximum possible marks of 2400, with each subject having a maximum of 800 marks each. The scores are released by the organization 3 weeks from the date of giving the exam.

In India there are only twenty two centers which offer either Paper test or a computerized test.
